Two arrests were made just before Halloween in connection with the shooting death of a Berry College student. Two teenagers are now facing murder, in addition to other, charges.

According to reports, the shooting occurred at approximately 2:30 in the afternoon. Two teenagers, both 19, went to meet another teen, also 19. A fight ensued during the meeting, leaving one student dead and the two teens charged with possession of a controlled substance, armed robbery, aggravated assault and murder.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances that may have led up to the shooting. It is unknown if the teens met with the third teenager with the intent of robbing him or if something occurred during the meeting that sparked the events.

Berry College released a statement that said, in part: “The police are investigating all leads regarding the circumstances of the shooting and more information will be provided at a later time. Our community has been remarkable in showing support and care for each other in tragic circumstances and it is heartbreaking to need to do so again. Please be supportive of each other as possible as we all seek to make sense of this tragedy.”
