A pedestrian was struck in the early morning hours of October 17 on Cobb Parkway near Freys Gin Road in Marietta. A witness indicated that the vehicle that hit the individual remained at the scene of the accident as authorities arrived.
Unfortunately, the pedestrian was notably injured and was rushed to a local hospital.
At this time, the status and identity of the injured party remain unknown as the investigation unfolds.
It will be interesting to see what happens with regard to the driver, as authorities can look favorably upon their willingness to remain in the area and cooperate. However, there are other mitigating factors that could be at play, such as who had the right of way.
It does not appear as if the driver suffered any physical harm in the collision.
