During the overnight hours of February 19, the Atlanta Police Department responded to an incident at 601 Hamilton E. Holmes Drive NW. Officers found an unresponsive 41-year-old woman at the scene, where they pronounced her dead.
According to reports, she was driving a Subaru Impreza when a Dodge Avenger heading north on Hamilton E. Holmes Drive crossed over the center line and smashed into the Subaru head-on.
The driver of the Dodge was a 26-year-old male who was taken to the hospital for medical attention.
Details confirming why the Dodge could not remain in its lane are still being looked into. No charges have been filed against the man at this juncture.
