About Mike Rafi — Founder & Lead Attorney
Mike Rafi is an Atlanta personal injury attorney, legal commentator, and the founder of Rafi Law Firm. He is one of the most recognized lawyers on social media in the United States, with more than 800 million views across YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram, where he publishes daily legal insights, case breakdowns, and honest conversations about how the legal system actually works.
Education & Early Career
Mike graduated with honors from Furman University and then from the University of Georgia School of Law, where he was named Outstanding Mock Trial Advocate of his graduating class, inducted into the Lumpkin Inn of Court and the National Order of the Barristers, and won competitions including the Ralph J. Beaird Closing Argument Competition and the Talmadge Moot Court Competition.
Before founding Rafi Law Firm, Mike worked at another personal injury law firm, (an international firm with over 600+ attorneys) where he defended major Georgia corporations in personal injury and commercial litigation, and served as the firm’s Legal Aid Fellow, fighting for low-income clients facing illegal evictions.
That experience on the defense side shaped how he approaches every case for plaintiffs today.

How Our Firm Was Built
Mike started the firm as its only lawyer. The firm grew from there, not by chasing volume, but by finding the right people who shared the same values.
Chris Stokes came to the firm through a law school professor who introduced him to Mike while Chris was still a student. Mike hired him to write blogs, but it didn’t take long to see that Chris was going to be an exceptional lawyer. Before Chris graduated, Mike tried to talk him out of taking a job at an insurance defense firm, but Chris went anyway. Eventually, he realized Rafi Law Firm was where he was supposed to be. That detour through the other side of personal injury litigation didn’t hurt.
Mike met Alex Brown through a mutual lawyer friend. Their first phone call was supposed to be introductory. An hour in, they were already mapping out case strategy. Before the call ended, Alex had agreed to join. They hadn’t discussed money, titles, or any of the logistics, none of that had seemed like the point.
Both had seen the same things from the inside: firms promising clients inflated case values just to get them to sign, then settling for far less than the case was worth. Clients who hadn’t spoken to their lawyer in a year. Cases dragged along with excuses while people waited, confused and ignored.
So they built something different: a firm that tells people the truth about their case from the start, does the work, and keeps clients informed along the way. Not because it is good marketing, because the alternative was something they had both seen up close and refused to replicate.
Today, Chris and Alex are partners in the firm. The three of them share the same values, enjoy working together, and have built something they are all proud of.
Our Commitment to Clients
From the beginning, the goal was to create a personal injury law firm with high standards, honest communication, and a real commitment to doing the job the right way. We believe clients should hear from us regularly, not just when something big happens. That is why we reach out to every client every month, even when there is nothing new to report.
Today, our team includes 20 people: 6 lawyers and 14 staff members. We are especially proud that 5 members of our team have been with us for more than five years, which is not easy in the personal injury field. That kind of longevity does not happen by accident. It happens when a firm values its people and builds a place where good lawyers and staff can do good work.
Our office manager, Kacie, has known Mike for 15 years. She worked for another personal injury lawyer, and for 10 years Mike tried to convince her to join the firm. She finally did. And now, six years later, she is an integral part of how the firm operates.
Our lead litigation paralegal, Alexis, came to us through a different path: Mike deposed her mother in a case against the company where she worked. After the deposition, her mother came away feeling that Mike was someone she would want her daughter to work for, and encouraged Alexis to apply. She did, and has now been with the firm for seven years.
These stories are not anomalies. They reflect something real about the kind of firm this is: one where talented people want to stay, where clients are treated like people, and where the work is taken seriously.
