Some of the most influential entertainers and artists hail from the Atlanta area–it’s something we’re very proud of. Migos is one of those groups who’ve made an astounding presence in music and culture, selling over three million albums across the country. Sadly, they’ve suffered the tragic loss of a member of the talented trio.

Kirshnik Khari Ball, better known as Takeoff, died on November 1 at the age of 28 during a shooting in Houston, Texas. Takeoff was attending a private party with the other members of the group at 810 Billiards and Bowling when shots were fired in the early hours of the morning. Two others were hurt in the incident, but their identities have not yet been released.

Migos isn’t only mourning the loss of a talented performer, they’re mourning the loss of a family member as Takeoff was Quavo’s nephew and Offset’s cousin.

Some people seem like they’re born to do certain things – Takeoff was destined to be a rapper.

“I just always wanted to rap,” Takeoff once said. “When Quavo was out doing sports, I was in the studio, what we call the bando, making music, going hard.” Via Newsbreak.com

Just a few weeks ago, Takeoff and Quavo released an album as a duo which highlighted the camaraderie they’ve had for decades. The first song of the album was titled “Two Infinity Links”, which is a vivid depiction of the unbreakable bond they had.

There are many people in our city who will remember exactly where they were when they heard the news of Takeoff’s death. Rafi Law Firm’s condolences and thoughts are with his family, and the fans that his work resonated with, as well as for those who were injured in the incident.
