Decatur police responded to a hit-and-run incident involving a pedestrian at the junction of Commerce Drive and West Howard Avenue around 8:30 a.m. on January 9.
As per law enforcement, a red Toyota sedan traveling westbound on West Howard Avenue neglected to stop for a red light at the intersection and collided with a juvenile pedestrian in the crosswalk. Surprisingly, the vehicle’s driver fled the scene and was last observed heading west on West Howard Avenue.
The injured juvenile was promptly transported to a local hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Authorities seek information from the public to identify the driver or the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run incident.
