Incidents on the road involving commercial trucks usually don’t end well. These are some of the largest vehicles present on the road and often haul tons of equipment or precious cargo that can’t be transported via some other means.

Unfortunately, an accident involving a HINO truck took the life of 54-year-old Sharon Hall. In the morning hours of March 6, the truck smashed into a Hyundai Elantra on Georgia Highway 400. Based on the description of the report, it appears as if the Elantra crossed over into oncoming traffic.

“The drivers had superficial injuries and were transported to a local hospital for evaluation,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement. “The passenger in the Elantra had to be extracted from the vehicle and was airlifted to a local trauma center.”  Via 11Alive.com

Hall, who was previously unidentified to the hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.

Initial results of the investigation seem to suggest driver error, although the sheriff’s office would not come out and say who was at fault.

The HINO truck was carrying compressed carbon dioxide and carbon dioxide containers. It doesn’t appear as if any of the gas was released into the air after the crash took place.

This incident blocked several lanes on the highway for the better part of the morning, as drivers were encouraged to use alternate routes.
