Sadly, an unidentified man was struck and killed by a vehicle in Marietta during the evening hours of August 28. The incident took place just after 8 p.m. when it was said that the individual stepped onto the road on Franklin Gateway just north of Delk Road.
A Dodge Grand Caravan heading south slammed into a man traversing north. The man was rushed to a local hospital but passed away in the emergency room.
It’s unclear whether the man had the right of way on the street, or whether he would have needed to wait for a light to change to safely pass. Police are working to identify the man, and anyone with information is asked to contact Officer P. Wishon at (770) 794-5384.
Franklin Gateway is a sports complex in Marietta. It is also not known if the man was exiting the facility before his death.
